Thursday Day 29
I woke up this morning and nothing had changed. I didn’t take any medication
and trooped off to the hospital to see if I could get any help. I made an
appointment on the way and was pleased that Dr Eakpatipan was able to see me at
the time I would arrive. He told me to immediately to stop taking the Arcoxia
and said that this is a common side effect of the medication. He then sent me
off to see Dr
Suthep, a gastroenterologist, who continued the streak of doctors with
excellent bedside manner at the BNH. We had an in depth consultation with
possible causes discussed one of them being an ulcer, which apparently can be
brought on by the type of meds I was taking. He then gave me a physical examination
and ruled any ulcer. He instructed me to stop taking the Arcoxia and prescribed
Prevalin (for acid reflux) and Motilium (to relieve nausea and vomiting).
I then went to a nearbny department store to have lunch which I wasn’t looking
forward too. The Doctor had said I must eat and said ‘soft’ foods were best. No
steak etc. Luckily Thai food with its staple of rice is soft in nature so no
problems there. spicy food is a no go to so need to be careful about this. I
took my medication just before lunch as instructed and was truly amazed at the
results. Nearly immediately I felt better and was able to enjoy my first real
meal since Monday. I have to return to
see Dr Suthep in a week but if this continues I hope I will be off all
medication from then on in.
